Apache Kid #3

The Indian Killer!

Apache Kid and White Swan are out on a canoe ride when suddenly they are shot at by a white man with a rifle. Apache Kid dives into the water and swims around and ambushes the shooter. He easily disarms the man and ropes him up and demands to know why he was shooting. He learns that the man was inspired by Wolf Crag, the so-called "Indian Killer" in Canyon City who has been offering a $1000 reward for Apache Kid's scalp. Apache Kid then hears White Swan cry for help as her canoe rushes towards a water fall. Acting quickly, Apache Kid uses a bow and arrow to shoot a line across the river at the canoe and save White Swans life.

Apache Kid then rides out to Canyon City, changing into his alter-ego Aloysius Kare to investigate the claims of a bounty on his life. Kare learns that Crag puts on a tent show to show off his shooting skills and put out the word of his reward for the Apache Kid's death, and that he would give the reward money to charity. Seeing Crag do some shooting before an actor posing as an Apache, Kare calls out Crag as a phony. He then challenges Wolf to a duel using nothing but Apache weapons and skills to prove that Wolf Crag is nothing more than a hack. Crag agrees and Kare uses a bow and arrow and tomahawk to not only disarm Crag but his assistant as well. Kare then defeats Crag in a fist fight. Having Crag at knife point, Aloysius forces him to admit that he was not really going to pay the reward to charity but keep it for himself. The audience then turns on him and with Wolf discredited Aloysius pays his leave. He soon returns to his village as Apache Kid and once more goes out canoeing with White Swan, this time uninterrupted.
