Avengers #67

We Stand at Armagedoon!

Credits

The Vision has betrayed the Avengers to helping Ultron upgrade himself with a new Adamantium body and hoverchair.[1] When Thor tries to attack Ultron directly, the villain repels him with enough force to throw the thunder god into Goliath, knocking him over. As the battle rages, the Vision has wandered off and tries to make sense about why he betrayed his fellow Avengers to Ultron.

Soon, Iron Man and the Wasp join the battle. Unfortunately, there is little that Iron Man can do because his armor was damaged earlier. Deciding that killing the Avengers with his bare hands is not good enough, Ultron-6 retreats back to his headquarters. Suspecting that this is where Ultron is headed, the Vision decides to go there and confront his master. As the Avengers recover from the battle they make the same conclusion as well. At the same time, SHIELD has picked up the location of the stolen Adamantium and dispatch their Suicide Squad to recover it. With the team deployed, Dum Dum Dugan and the other senior SHIELD agents can focus on capturing their former leader, Nick Fury.[2]

Meanwhile, Ultron returns to his old hideout and begins ramping up its nuclear power supply to cause an explosion powerful enough to annihilate the entire city. He is then attacked by the Vision, who has now realized that Ultron had pre-programmed him to betray his teammates. However, Ultron is just as impervious to the Visions attacks as anything else. He uses ionic energy to repel his foe. As Ultron returns to his work, the Vision is then attacked by the Suicide Squad.

As the other Avengers arrive on the scene they hear a large humming noise. Yellowjacket recognizes it at once and as he warns the other Avengers of the danger, Ultron throws a witch to set off the chain-reaction that will destroy New York.
