Incredible Hulk (Vol. 2) #33
Tides
In the nation of Wakanda, Queen Divine Justice confides in the young priest named Kono, she tells him that she thinks she lost a friend today and beings to tell the tale...
The Hulk has returned to Wakanda, beginning an immediate clash with the Wakandan army. However, the attack is quickly stopped when Queen Divine Justice arrives on the scene and the Hulk recognizes her as a friend. She convinces the Hulk to cease his attack and join her for breakfast. However, this turns potentially dangerous when the Queen quips that anyone who uses a cookbook is stupid. The Hulk lashes out, saying he isn't stupid and smashes the stove with his bare hands, frightening Divine Justice. Still, she decides to try and keep the Hulk in a good mood.
She convinces the Hulk to take her out to the Barrier Reef out on the Baltic Sea. The Hulk leaps there in great bounds, and Divine Justice is only able to survive the lack of oxygen in the upper atmosphere thanks to a special suit designed by Wakandan scientists that include a helmet that provides a steady flow of oxygen. When they finally land, the girl puts an earpiece into the Hulk's ear so he can hear her when they are underwater. She then takes him into the water where they search for the Dankst, a Russian submarine that had recently sunk in the area with all hands on board. The Queen convinces the Hulk that there are puppies trapped inside that need to be rescued. As the Hulk lifts the sub and prepares to bring it to the surface they are suddenly attacked by a group of deep-sea divers who stun the Hulk and take Divine Justice prisoner. As she is taken away, the Hulk screams out her name. Divine Justice soon finds herself brought aboard another vessel under the command of Barney Fiddler of the deputy of the United States Government. She protests her capture, but he explains that the Russian sub contains new stealth technology and is armed with countless biological weapons that they must secure. Fiddler asks Divine Justice to convince the Hulk to help them secure the craft. However, she explains that the Hulk is like a big dumb animal and that he is too stupid to understand global politics.
Suddenly, the Hulk attacks Fiddler's sub, allowing the Queen to start a fire on board. Thanks to her special suit, she is able to shoot herself out of a torpedo tube to escape back to the surface. She is caught in mid-air by the Hulk who takes her to shore. There she discovers that the Hulk had pulled the submarine to shore. When she asks how he could have known to do this, he reveals that still had his earpiece on. However, the Hulk is not happy with Divine Justice for calling him stupid. As news crews arrive on the scene, Divine Justice tries to explain to the Hulk that she cares about him. However, the Hulk isn't buying it and proves that she has been lying to him the whole time by ripping open the side of the submarine. As the crew rushes outside to safety, the Hulk notes that there are no trapped puppies inside, proving his point. Furious over this deception, the Hulk storms off.
.... When Queen Divine Justice finishes her tale, she begins to cry, saying that she has made the Hulk more dangerous after betraying his trust like this.
