Kid Colt Outlaw #63

Rampage

Riding through town at night, Kid Colt is ambushed by two men who knock him off his horse. Kid Colt puts on a decent fight until a third attacker knocks him out with a blow to the back of the head. The Kid is taken to their leader, Shag Marcy, who is pleased to hear that the man they have captured is a fighter. When Kid Colt comes around, Shag tells the Kid that from now on, he works for Marcy. When Colt refuses to submit to Shag, he orders his men to leave him tied up in the barn for the night. Left alone, Kid Colt manages to free himself from his bonds. That’s when he discovers that Shag Marcy and his men are gone. That’s because Marcy and his army of outlaws are out plundering nearby towns. Following Marcy’s trail, Kid Colt sees the destruction that these outlaws have left in their wake.

Meeting with the local sheriff, Kid Colt tries to figure out how to stop this gang. The Kid deduces that the gang will only follow a strong leader and decides to compromise his leadership. Learning that the gang also hangs out at the abandoned ranch near Snake Rock, Kid Colt goes to stake out the location. After confirming that the gang is holed up there, Kid Colt rides back to town and convinces a passing stagecoach driver for some help. With the horses from the coach, Kid Colt is able to bring down the grain silo that the outlaws are hiding in. Kid Colt then quickly disarms the outlaws of their firearms with his superior shooting skills. Because the other outlaws were governed by fear of Shag Marcy, they quickly surrender when Kid Colt shows dominance over their leader. With that, the outlaws are all arrested.

He learns that Duke intends of robbing another herd from Chuck Plummer in an effort to force him into selling his spread for cheap. Kid Colt is told that he already sent his two trusted men, Luke Darrow and Shorty Burns, to do the job.
