Marines in Action #2
"Rock" Murdock the Fighting Gyrene
Rock Murdock and Scuttlebutt Stacy are out on the field when they come across a communist tank. The two jump it and force out the crew then toss grenades down the barrel of its main gun, destroying the tank before it can cause any damage. Searching the wreckage of the tank they find canisters of film for a documentary called "The History of the US Marine Corps" and realize that the enemy has been studying up on the US military and their tactics. Suddenly they spot a strange looking tank heading their way and hide in some nearby trees. Jumping onto the tank they try to force their way inside but the pilots have their guns raised and take them prisoner.
The leader of the tank crew explains that they are aboard a "camera tank" armed with cameras that film in all directions and beam the images back to their headquarters so that their commanders can give more strategic orders. Scuttlebutt then pulls out a string of grenades, forcing the soldiers to stand down and be taken prisoner.
Seeking to put the tank to go use to sabotage the enemy, Rock comes up with the idea to use the footage from the documentary to fool the commanders back at base. Using a film projector to project the footage against a rock wall, the beam footage of soldiers from US marines from different eras: during the Revolutionary War, World War I, and World War II, using the camera tank's camera to make it appear that these attacks are all happening on different fronts. Seeing this footage, the confused military leaders of the communists order their troops to go and counter attack the "invasion" force in the east, leaving the communist base open for attack by the real American troops. Sending this message home, Rock and Scuttlebutt film themselves holding a sign explaining their deception.
