The Guns of Kid Colt
Kid Colt has ridden down south and comes to the aid of Colonel Farnsworth and his son Tip from being robbed. The Colonel explains to Kid Colt that he is sending his son down river on a river boat to transport $5000 from their cotton crop to another bank as the local one has been robbed three times. The Kid who has never been on a river boat accepts the job. However as he boards the ship, Tip tells the Kid to stay out of his way, and Kid Colt is only happy to follow orders.
However as the boat travels down it's course the captain of the ship comes to warn Kid Colt that Tip has almost lost all his money to a cardsharp named Ace Bannock. Going down into the gambling room, Kid Colt realizes that Ace is using marked cards and calls him on it, giving all the money back to Tip. Ace then challenges Kid Colt to a knife fight and he easily wins. However, the other men on the boat realize that Kid Colt is an outlaw with a reward on his head and they all begin shooting. With Tip's aid, Kid Colt and his horse Steel jump ship and swim to safety. In the aftermath of his adventure Kid Colt figures that the only safe way to travel is by horseback.
