Amazing Spider-Man #526
Reckoning
This story continues from Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #20…
Web-slinging across town, Spider-Man wonders how much time he has left after he was told that he was going to die.[1] On the roof of the Daily Bugle, Spider-Man is ambushed by Morlun who has decided that it’s finally time for Spider-Man to die. However, the web-slinger doesn’t want to fight and tries to flee the scene. When Morlun attacks and sends the pair crashing into J. Jonah Jameson’s office. Spider-Man tries to escape again, but Morlun grabs his leg and throws him into the Bugle’s newsroom. Confused due to his illness, Spider-MAn spots Laurie Lynton and remembers they went to high school together and decides he must defend her.[2] Spider-Man tries striking Morlun with various objects but nothing slows him down. In order to protect the others, Spider-Man leaps out a window, prompting Morlun to follow after him. Shooting webbing into Morlun’s face, Spider-Man makes his foe fall all the way to the street below. Unfortunately, Morlun survives the impact and continues the chase.
Spider-Man then lures Morlun to Empire State University where he figures he’ll make his last stand.[3] Morlun quickly throws Spider-Man back outside and continues to deflect projectiles tossed at him. He then smashes Spider-Man’s head on mailbox, almost knocking the wall-crawler out. Morlun tells Spider-Man not to feel bad, saying that he has fared better than most of his own kind. Thinking of all his loved ones, Peter refuses to die like this and finds newfound strength to start fighting back. Spider-Man tries to pummel Morlun until he has exhausted himself. Unfortunately, Morlun was only allowing Spider-Man to get it out of his system. Morlun assures Spider-Man that he’s going to tell his family that he fought well and then rips out one of Spider-Man’s eyes and eats it.
As Spider-Man reels from the pain, Morlun then starts pummeling Spider-Man, beating into unconsciousness….
This Other continues in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #3…

Continuity Notes
Peter received the bad news in Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #19
Peter remembers how Laurie went to high school with him. This was revealed in Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #13.
Continuity Errors
Peter thinks that Empire State University was where Spider-Man was born. This is not correct at all. Per Amazing Fantasy #15 and Spectacular Spider-Man #60, the accident that created Spider-Man happened at General Techtronics Laboratories. We can probably chalk this up to Peter not being in his right mind at this moment.
