Spider-Man assists the She-Hulk in taking down a strange aquatic creature that has been attacking city crews in the sewers. After dealing with this threat, She-Hulk realizes that she is late for a work thing. With nothing else going on, Spider-Man tags along and asks if he can come along. She is late for the exhibition of a new Egyptian artifact that her law firm is sponsoring. The web-slinger is interested in going and tries to impress her with how much he knows about ancient Egypt, but she snubs him by leaving in a cab.

When Jennifer arrives at the museum, one of her co-workers is upset that she showed up at She-Hulk and points out that she smells after her romp in the sewers. Outside, Spider-Man has convinced himself to go to the museum opening as well. That’s when he spots some women in cloaks and armed with daggers.

Back inside, She-Hulk is very interested in the statue of Bastet on display and the necklace the statue is wearing. The archeologist in charge of the exhibit tells She-Hulk that they have replicas of the necklace for guests to try on. He then tells her that the statue on display is also a replica because they are still working on restoring the original. That’s when She-Hulk spots one of the cloaked women entering the back room and races in to confront them. The mystery woman bolts into another room and locks the door behind them. That’s when Spider-Man arrives and offers his help, suggesting that he go through the vents to unlock the door on the other side. Instead, She-Hulk smashes through the door. The pair then quickly round up the two thieves for the authorities. As they are being dragged away by the cops, the women vow that the statue needs to be returned to Egypt.

That’s when She-Hulk checks on the statue and finds that it is still intact. When she picks up the statue it begins to speak. She then hands it off to Spider-Man while she talks to the archeologist who found it. That’s when Spider-Man notices that She-Hulk has grown a feline tail. Worse, cats have started entering the museum and begun following She-Hulk around. Spider-Man finds this all amusing, but She-Hulk doesn’t find any of this funny. She decides they should speak to the would-be thieves and tells Spider-Man to bring the statue along. Suddenly, the whole museum is flooded with cats, prompting everyone to flee from the building. Outside, the swarm of cats cause havoc on the road. A bus driver swerves his vehicle out of the way and is saved by She-Hulk.

That’s when the lead archeologist tells She-Hulk to ditch the replica necklace she has been wearing this entire time. Spider-Man pulls it off with a web-line and tosses it onto the road. The cats then start swarming the necklace, merging into the form of Bastet, the goddess of cats. The deity has come to make She-Hulk her servant, but the jade giantess refuses to subjugate herself to anyone, let alone a god. She-Hulk attacks Bastet, but she starts unleashing more cats, which She-Hulk refuses to harm. That’s when Spider-Man gets an idea and, after putting on an ox mask, convinces Bastet that he is Neith, servant to the goddess of war and hunting. He convinces Bastet that she is not needed as the world has defenders. Convinced by Spider-Man’s deception, Bastet then disappears back to where she came.

In the aftermath of the battle, Spider-Man takes off before he can tell She-Hulk that she no longer has a tail. This causes her to panic for a moment because she thinks she still has it. While She-Hulk curses Spider-Man, the web-slinger goes into a nearby gyro restaurant and places two orders, since She-Hulk could probably use a bite to eat.
