Kid Colt Outlaw #31
Kid Colt Outlaw
A cattle dealer named Ringo and his men are camping out for the night. They are shocked by the arrival of Kid Colt to their camp, however Kid Colt comes in peace, seeking only to get some water from them. Finding this amusing Ringo gives Kid Colt "water" from his special supply and sends him on his way. Later, while on his way to Silver City, Kid Colt stops to take a drink from his canteen and is shocked to find that he was not given water -- but whiskey. Furious over this double cross, Kid Colt vows to get back at Ringo and his men.
Meanwhile, Ringo and his men seek to graze their cattle on Comanche land and heads down to the land office to get permission but are refused. Ringo starts to get rough, but suddenly Kid Colt bursts in and beats up Ringo and his men for the whiskey they gave him. Kid Colt pulls his guns and forces Ringo and his men to leave, but Ringo swears to Kid Colt that he will get his way.
Ringo does this by going to the Comanche camp and begins selling whiskey to the people who live there. While the Comanches are drunk Ringo tricks them into signing over their land to him and heads off to the land office to claim his "rightfully" obtained land. Shortly thereafter, Kid Colt comes across some drunk Comanches falling off their horses and rides into the Comanche village where he meets with the Comanche chief War Cloud and learns what happened. Soon after the explanation, Ringo and his men arrive and demand that the Comanches pack up and leave.
When War Cloud refuses to vacate the land, Ringo shoots him and orders his men to wipe out the Comanches. Kid Colt springs to action and mows down Ringo and his men. War Cloud was only wounded in the attack and thanks Kid Colt for his help and wonders what to do about the barrels of whiskey that are still on their land. Kid Colt solves this problem by blasting holes in them causing the whiskey to pour into the ground. Later, back in Silver City, news of Ringo's death reaches the land office and the claims that they were forced to sign on his behalf are burned.
