After narrowly avoiding a posse, Kid Colt recovers his horse and goes back the way he came. However, he is surrounded by a gang of outlaws. However, they aren’t looking for a fight. Instead, they ask Kid Colt to join them since that same posse is after them too. Even though they inform Kid Colt that Marshal Fred Hoyt has a warrant for his arrest, Kid Colt isn’t interested in joining up with them. When the outlaws leave, Kid Colt finds himself in a conundrum. If he leaves the outlaws to their plans they’ll murder the Marshal, ending the manhunt for him, but if he warns Hoyt about the assassination attempt he’ll get arrested. Eventually, Kid Colt’s conscience wins and he decides to warn Hoyt. He rides out to the town of Cottonwood and learns from the local sheriff that Fred Hoyt lives out near White Oak.

When he arrives at the Hoty spread, Kid Colt meets the Marshal’s children, Billy and Annie. As he is talking to them, Fred gets the drop on Kid Colt and asks the outlaw why he came to his home when he has spent the past two days hunting for him. He tells Hoyt about how the Lurch gang are gunning for him and he wanted no part of the lawman’s death and wants to make sure his children grow up with a father. Suddenly, the outlaws arrive and begin shooting. While Marshal Hoyt returns fire, Kid Colt carries the children to safety. Kid Colt and Fred hole up in the house and return fire. Hoyt tells Kid Colt that he should go and offers to drop the charges against him. Still, Kid Colt refuses to leave the Marshal outnumbered and outgunned. Getting his horse, Kid Colt races out and manages to outgun the outlaws, disarming them all and forcing them to surrender.

With the outlaws rounded up, Billy asks his father if he is going to arrest Kid Colt. Fred tells his son that he doesn’t arrest good people and considers Kid Colt’s name on the arrest order must have been a mistake.

Desperate Hour!

As Kid Colt and Steel fall off the edge of a cliff, the outlaw hero thinks back to how he found himself in this predicament…

Earlier, Kid Colt was helping a wagon train defend themselves from outlaws in Charro Flats. Outnumbered, Kid Colt quickly mobilizes the men into a two-pronged attack on horseback. Thanks to this strategy, they manage to capture most of the outlaws. Turning over the outlaws in the town of Timberline, Kid Colt testifies at the trial. He says that they only captured six of the thieves because most fell during the battle, however he says the leader and a few of the other gang members managed to escape. Outside, the leader of the gang orders his men to steal Kid Colt’s horse while they free the others. The surprise attack catches everyone off guard and the captured gang members manage to escape. Watching them escape, Kid Colt notices that they have also taken Steel as well, but vows to get his horseback.

Later that day, the outlaws decide to camp for the night. The leader of the gang then decides to set a trap for Kid Colt. They set Steel on the edge of a cliff and rig it to collapse under the combined weight of Kid Colt and Steel when the hero comes to retrieve his horse. Unaware of this strap, Kid Colt pays a man to learn the location of his horse. Sure enough, when Kid Colt retrieves his horse he sets off the trap that sends them both falling down the cliff…

.. Quick thinking, Kid Colt manages to break his fall by grabbing a tree branch that is sticking out of the rocks while Steel lands safely in the river below. By this time, the man who lured Kid Colt into the trap reports back to his boss to tell him that the Kid fell for it. That’s when a bunch of burning debris falls down the chimney and spills out into the cabin, catching it on fire. Forced outside, the outlaws run into the blazing guns of Kid Colt. Out-gunned, the outlaws’ surrender and Kid Colt turns them over to the judge to finish their sentencing.

Out of Bounds!

Kid Colt is riding the trail outside of the town of Longhorn when he suddenly gets shot at. Running for cover, Kid Colt loops around and gets the drop at the men shooting at him. They think he’s a hired gun going to work for the Conroys, but Kid Colt convinces them that he is doing no such thing. When he learns that there is trouble brewing in Longhorn he decides to head into town and find out what the problem is.

When he arrives he finds the town eerily quiet and decides to question the sheriff. He tells Kid Colt that there is a feud going on between the Dillons and the Conroys that has gone on since the end of the Civil War. When Kid Colt asks why the sheriff hasn’t stopped the feud, he explains that half the town is either related to the Conroys or the Dillons and doesn’t have the manpower to arrest everyone and points to the nearby cemetery where all the victims of the feud have been laid to rest.

Kid Colt decides to take matters into his own hand and begins badmouthing both families around town saying that the patriarchs of each family are too cowardly to come and face him. Soon enough, Brad Dillon and Ulysses Conroy come down to the local saloon to answer Kid Colt’s challenge. He calls them cowards who aren’t willing to settle things themselves and challenges them to a duel. If either Dillon or Conroy can gun him down the feud to continue, but if Kid Colt wins they have to end the feud immediately.

Sure enough, the men agree to the terms and when the duel in the streets Kid Colt proves to be the better gunman, shooting the guns out of both the hands of Brad and Ulysses. When the locals prepare to swarm Kid Colt, the two men tell everyone to stand down and announce that their years-long feud is now over.

The sheriff says he isn’t here to arrest him just to warn the outlaw that he must keep the peace while in town. When the let him pass, the sheriff can’t help but notice how angry Kid Colt was and how out of character it is.

In town, Kid Colt spots his gear in a shop window and goes inside to talk to the shop keeper about it. Kid Colt proves that they are stolen goods and the shopkeeper agrees to give them back but is sore for the two hundred dollars he lost from the men who sold him the goods. Kid Colt asks for his guns back as collateral and promises to bring back the men who sold him the stolen equipment.

As Kid Colt goes out looking for the men who robbed them, they are leaving a local saloon to go and rob a coach. Steel recognizes them and chases them into a nearby building. Realizing that these are the men who robbed him, Kid Colt forces them to come out and holds them for the sheriff.
