Doctor Nemesis

Doctor Bradley is called to ride an ambulance to the scene of a hit-and-run. When he arrives on the scene, the man hit is dying and is struggling to speak. Hoping to get the absolute truth out of the injured man, James injects his patient with his truth serum. The man reveals that he was intentionally run over as part of an insurance scam. Unfortunately, before the man can reveal who was responsible, he dies from his injuries.

Back at the hospital, some of the nurses notices that Doctor Bradley is preoccupied and invite him to a work picnic to get his mind off things. However, when another doctor informs them that he is about to be taken to the scene of another hit-and-run, James takes his place instead. However, when he arrives on the scene he discovers that the victim, a young girl, is unconscious due to a skull fracture, but the injuries are consistent to the earlier hit-and-run. That’s when he overhears the mother arguing with her husband over the insurance policy they had just recently taken out on their daughter. The little girl is rushed into surgery, however despite the best efforts of the doctors at Mercy Hospital, the young girl dies.

In another part of the city a deformed man gloats over the money he is making off these fraudulent insurance policies. While back at the hospital, Doctor Bradley is trying to come up with a way of stopping this insurance scam racket before there are more victims. He decides to pay a visit to the grieving mother of the last victim offering to give her an injection that will help calm her down. Instead, Doctor Bradley injects her with his truth serum and she tells him that her brother and husband run an insurance company and had been using the company to kill their customers and cash in on the policies. Now, with the death of her daughter, the woman fears that her brother may have been responsible for her death.

At that moment, at the brother’s home, the woman’s husband is meeting with his brother-in-law. After being ensured that the brother did not kill his daughter he accepts a drink from the brother-in-law and discovers too late that it was laced with poison. As the brother leaves, Doctor Nemesis arrives on the scene and finds the dying man on the floor. His dying words are warning Nemesis that his brother-in-law is now heading to his home to kill his wife. Rushing to the scene, Doctor Nemesis stops the killer before he can murder his own sister. Injecting the man with his truth serum and learns that he was in the employ of the president of the insurance company. He would alter the insurance policies, the brother would kill the victims, and they would split the profits 50/50. Taking the killer, Doctor Nemesis then barges in on the president of the insurance company as he meets with his board of directors trying to justify the company losses. After a brief struggle, Doctor Nemesis injects the president with his truth serum and he makes a full confession. Soon the police arrive on the scene, prompting Doctor Nemesis to flee the scene before they can question him.
