Carnage #4

Carnage #4

Then

During a break out at the Raft, Carnage attempted to escape only to be stopped by the Sentry. The powerful superhuman carried Carnage into space where he was ripped in half and left for dead. His last memory of this moment was the symbiote wrapping him in a cocoon.[1] He later woke up on an operating table at Hall Industries. The scientists are surprised to discover that the Carnage symbiote kept Cletus Kasady alive even though it brought the alien creature near the brink of death. Hall is impressed and orders them remove the symbiote. When Cletus tries to struggle they sedate him.

Now

In Michael Hall’s panic room, Spider-Man and Iron Man have just learned that not only is Cletus Kasady still alive, but he was being kept in the basement of this building. That’s when Royal Blue of Hall’s Iron Rangers is informed that the Carnage symbiote has reached the holding facility and slaughtered everyone along the way.

Having re-bonded to his symbiote, Carnage is now going on a rampage out front of the building demanding Michael Hall come out and face him. The Iron Rangers go out to face Carnage, their inventor assuring Spider-Man and Iron Man that they can handle Kasady because their armor is made out of a titanium/symbiote alloy. However, what nobody anticipated is that Carnage is able to command the symbiotic substance in the armor. As Spider-Man and Iron Man heads to stop him, Cletus kills all of the Iron Rangers and absorbs their symbiotic armor into his own body, making him grow in size.

Meanwhile, in the Hall Industries holding cell, Tanis Nieves wakes up after being a temporary host for the Carnage symbiote. With her are Shriek and the Spider-Doppelganger, who are looking for Cletus. Frances thinks that Tanis is keeping her “boyfriend” from her, thinking the doctor is in love with him. This is because Tanis is wearing a cybernetic arm that uses portions of the symbiote. When she points out that Tanis is wearing one of Carnage’s “babies”, the cybernetic arm begins changing shape. As Spider-Man and Iron Man are barely holding their own against Carnage, Tanis pleads with Shriek to help her get the prosthetic off her. Shriek mocks Tanis instead, taking joy in watching something toying with the doctor’s mind.

As the battle outside rages on,[2] Nieves continues to fight the symbiotic influence in her prosthetic limb as it tries to get her to feed it and convince her that it loves her. When Shriek tells her to take responsibility of the situation, Tanis shatters a glass holding cell and uses one of the shards to cut off the prosthetic. While outside, Spider-Man and Iron Man aren’t anywhere close to stopping Carnage who even shrugs off having an SUV dropped on top of him. That’s when all three combatants are stunned by a sonic blast. It was caused by Shriek who is now wearing Tanis’ prosthetic limb on her shoulder like a third arm. As Spider-Doppelganger keeps Tanis hostage, Shriek asks Carnage if he missed her.
