Giant-Size Spider-Woman #1
Choices
San Francisco, Six Months Ago…
Jessica Drew is out at an ATM machine in the middle of the night in a slutty dress wondering what has become of her life. She thinks about all of her achievements: a superhero, a former SHIELD agent, and former agent of Hydra, and now she’s reduced to trying to lure out some muggers.[1] When they show up, she tries to use her powers against them only to remember that her powers don’t fully function anymore.[2] Luckily, with her SHIELD training Jessica is able to disarm the crooks and knock them out.
The job nets Jessica a measly 800 dollars and she doesn’t feel its worth it, especially when her employer insists on getting a picture with her afterwards. On her way home she briefly sees someone in a Hydra costume watching her. When she arrives at her apartman, she finds a man named Connely. He has her old Spider-Woman costume and tells her how he misses the old her. When Jessica tires to attack he uses energy powers to knock her to the ground. Tossing her old costume on her, Connely asks Jessica if she’s interested in getting her powers back. When Jessica asks what he wants in exchange he tells her that’s the rub…[3]
