A young man named Mikey is watching one of the clerks at a clothing store and musting the guts to ask her out. He goes in and begins looking at one of the jackets and when she tells Mikey that the jacket would look good on him, Mikey checks how much the jacket costs. It’s very expensive and he only has a handful of pocket change. thinking the new jacket will help him win over the woman, Mikey decides he needs to get money, fast. Exiting the store he looks across the street at a corner store and watches as the elderly owner counts the money from his till. He wonders if this girl is worth it, since he’s never robbed anyone before.

Deciding she is, Mikey pulls out a pocket knife and is about to cross the street when Spider-Man suddenly swings by, knocking Mikey off his feet in fright. This causes him to pause and think some more. Mikey imagines robbing the store, and in this fantasy, he is busted by Spider-Man who easily snaps his pocket knife and leaves him strung up for the police, the whole thing being witnessed by the girl he’s trying to impress.

Deciding that it’s not worth it, but still needing money, Mikey walks back into the clothing store and asks the girl he likes about the help wanted sign outside.

Swinging through the city, Spider-Man thinks about how a copy boy at the Daily Bugle was hit by a bus the other day. He wonders about the series of events that had to come into play for that to happen that day to lead to the accident. Dropping down into an alleyway to change back into Peter Parker, the web-slinger wonders how people live without knowing how close they were to danger. Unfortunately, that’s not an option for Peter, thanks to his spider-sense which he believes sounds good on paper.

As he navigates through the bust sidewalks of New York City his spider-sense is always at a low buzz. Most instances are harmless, like how he avoids walking into someone going the opposite way. However, sometimes his spider-sense comes in handly, like when he spots a man in a business suit trying to steal the change from a homeless man. When Peter tells him that the change doesn’t belong to him, the businessman runs off. When the homeless man asks if he is a copy, Peter says that he’s just a friend from the neighborhood.

Peter soon arrives at a flower shop where he asks the owner for some help selecting flowers that he can bring the funeral service of his coworker. When the florist goes into the backroom to get some arrangements, Peter’s spider-sense begins going haywire. Annoyed because it is too early in the morning for it, Peter abruptly leaves the flower shop to stop the Vulture who has just robbed a bank.

When the Vulture pulls a gun on Spider-Man, the web-slinger manages to plug his pistol. The villain tries to evade Spider-Man, but the wall-crawler snares the Vulture’s ankle with some webbing and uses it to tag along for a ride. The Vulture tries to shake off Spider-Man by flying through a condemned building. However, Spider-Man manages to wrap his webbing around a pillar causing the Vulture to snap back and into Spider-Man’s fist. After dropping the Vulture off at the nearest police station, Spider-Man changes back to Peter Parker again.

On his way back to the flower shop he is once again thinking about his co-worker and the logistics of what it would take. That’s when his spider-sense goes off and he has to swat away an attacking bird. That’s when a bus passes by it jumps the curb and narrowly misses him just as he wonders he’s wondering how many steps someone could have left and realized that it could be fewer than one thinks.
