Shiver Part Four

After encountering a symbiotic creature that has took possession of their commander, Colonel Michael Malone, Patricia Robertson and Daniel Jackson have been tied up in a supply room by a mysterious man in a suit that had come to kill the creature. As Patricia struggles to get free, Jackson tells her that the rest of their unit are all dead. When she asks Jackson how he can be sure, he suddenly transforms into the monstrous form of the symbiote and admits that he killed them. When she asks what the creature is, it admits that it used to know what it was but not so much anymore.[1] When she asks the creature intends to kill her, it says it won’t — yet, admitting that it has taken a liking to her.He decides to do it a favor by freeing her from her bonds and allowing her to get a head start.

Patricia tries to make a run for it but ends up tripping over her own feet and is quickly caught by the monster. However, before it can kill her, Jerome Delacroix arrives and orders it to put her down. The monster then reveals that it is using Daniel Jackson as a host. Seeing Jackson causes Jerome to pause long enough for the symbiote to ambush him with its tendrils and smother him to death. As it starts swallowing up Delacroix’s body, the symbiote tells Patricia that it’ll take its time killing Jerome and then it will be after her once again to finish her off. Grabbing her gun, Patricia flees this time she manages to get away from the monster.

However, as she looks around the facility, she enters a room and discovers the dead bodies of Michael Malone and Harold Saunders. The monster then catches up with her and just as it is about to strike, someone fires explosive shells at the monster. Although the symbiote is able to catch the shell in its liquified body and force it out, the shell still explodes. Patricia has managed to get to safety when the shell goes off. However, as the smoke clears the only thing in the blast area is the dead body of Jerome Delacoirx. She rushes into the radio room where she founds the lone survivor of the Ararat Corporation facility. He tells her that the creature is somehow jamming the radio and when she demands he prove that he is not possessed by the symbiote, he throws up when she points her gun at him, convincing her that he is untainted by the monster. She then starts smacking the scientist around to get him to calm down enough to tell her what the creature is. When he tells her everything, Patricia is horrified and realizes that she has never been this scared in her entire life, or so angry. Giving in to her anger, Patricia then shoves the gun into the face of the scientist
