Run Part Two

A man named Clem has shown up at Nan’s Cookhouse looking a little down. When Yooper, one of the regulars, asks Clem what has him so upset. He tells Yooper that he is possessed by an alien creature that killed all of his friends. Yooper thinks this is Clem trying to make a bad joke until he suddenly transforms into a monstrous form as the symbiote takes control of his body.[1] As the patrons flee the diner, they are gunned down by a woman named Vic who radios her twin sister Frankie to see if she can verify sight on the symbiote. When Frankie spots Nan fleeing her restaurant, she prepares to snipe her when Wolverine arrives and cuts the barrel off her rifle and attacks her. Wolverine threatens to gut Frankie if she doesn’t explain what she and her sister are doing. However, before Vic can give any answers, Logan is ambushed by the symbiote.

As Wolverine battles the symbiote, Frankie flees, telling Vic that her collar was broken. Before she can rendezvous with her sister, she is blasted into unconsciousness by the mysterious man in black that has been hunting the symbiote from the Arctic Circle. He then reports back to his superiors to tell them that others appear to be after the symbiote and are well prepared to deal with it. At that same moment, Wolverine manages to get free from the symbiote’s grasp by cutting through its arm. With his enhanced senses, Logan is able to tell that he is not up against Eddie Brock, but figures the creature is looking for him and challenges it to try and get him. However, the creature admits that it didn’t come looking for him but is glad it ran into him as it knows that Wolverine is a mutant. The symbiote quickly overpowers Wolverine and then tries to bond with him. However, Logan refuses to allow himself to become a host for the symbiote and finds new strength to fight back.

Meanwhile, Patricia Robertson wakes up and spots Frankie trying to flee the scene and tries to stop her. However, the mercenary manages to speak around Patricia and get the drop on her. At that same moment, the man in black arrives at the scene of Wolverine’s battle with the symbiote. After scanning Logan and determining that he is a mutant, the man in black charges up his weaponized cell phone and fires a blast at the two combatants.
