Whom the Gods Would Destroy!
Venus is going on a vacation, and before leaving Whitney Hammond promises to take her out to the Crane Club upon her return. Venus then returns to Olympus on planet Venus and no matter what she does she cannot get the feelings she has toward Whitney Hammond out of her mind and longs to return to Earth and resume her mortal life.
When Venus finally returns to Earth, she is happily reunited with Whitney, but soon finds that in her absence Della Mason was left in charge of her job and has left the office a mess. With a deadline, looming Whitney begins focusing on getting the next issue of Beauty Magazine pushed out telling Venus that their date at the Crane Club is canceled because he has to attend to business before pleasure. Upset that Whitney is ignoring her, Venus is inspired when Della suggests that she should get a boyfriend.
Deciding to take this advice in order to make Whitney jealous, Venus returns to Olympus where she has Apollo gather a group of men for her inspection. She chooses to bring Samson with her back to Earth in order to make Hammond jealous. Dressing him up in normal clothing, Venus brings Samson to the offices of Beauty Magazine where Della is instantly smitten by him. When Venus presents her "boyfriend" to Hammond, Whitney laughs at his long hair and beard, calling him a "regular Samson!" Before Samson can start a fight, Venus drags him outside the office and leaves him in the lobby while she goes off to sulk. Della takes Samson under his arm and convinces him to go out with her.
The first thing she does is have Samson get a shave and a haircut. When they return to the Beauty Magazine office, Della is called off on business. Samson then tries to get Venus to forget about Hammond and love him. When she refuses he tries to force himself upon her just as Whitney enters her office. Instantly jealous, Whitney easily punches Samson out. When Whitney is once more busy giving Della work to do, Venus reminds Samson that the source of his strength came from the length of his hair before banishing him back to Olympus.
When Hammond returns, he realizes that he has been ignoring Venus the whole time and the two reconcile.

It's All in the Mind!
As Venus and Whitney Hammond go out for dinner together, Della watches from the offices of Beauty Magazine and fumes that Venus has managed to win Whitney's, heart. Intending to win Whitney over, she decides to get the advice of psychologist Dr. Dingle, who suggests to Della that Hammond is only drawn to the beauty of Venus and that if she can convince Venus to make herself less beautiful then Hammond will have no care for her.
The following day when Venus arrives at the office, Della suggests to her that Whitney is only interested in Venus' beauty, convincing her that she has to dress down and look plain to see if he still loves her. Venus catches on that this is one of Della's tricks to try to interfere with her relationship with Whitney and decides to play along. She goes to a beauty shop to have herself made down and returns to the office dressed down. This comes as a shock to Whitney when he sees Venus at work the following day and he cancels his dinner date with Venus, much to Della's delight.
The next day Della dresses up in a beautiful outfit and tries to get Whitney's attention. However, Whitney shocks her when he reveals that he has taken a liking to Venus' new conservative look and that beauty isn't everything and orders Della to go home and change into something more appropriate. When Della leaves, Venus and Whitney reveal that they were in on the whole thing and hope that this has taught Della a lesson not to meddle in their relationship. Later that day they begin to wonder where Della went, as Miss Mason protests outside Dr. Dingle's office, denouncing him as a fraud.

Oh, Doctor!
Noticing that Venus has been in Whitney Hammond's office for hours, Della Mason decides to eavesdrop on the conversation. Listening through the keyhole, she hears Venus and Hammond once more arguing over the fact that Venus insists that she is really the goddess of love, a fact that Whitney cannot believe. When Venus loses the argument and leaves the office, Della decides to take advantage of Venus' "delusions" in order to get her out of the way.
Della goes into Whitney's office and convinces him to get Venus to see Doctor Saunders, a professional who deals with delusional people. Hammond likes the idea and orders Venus to go and see Saunders, Venus agrees to go hoping that it will help bring her and Whitney closer together. Venus goes to visit Dr. Saunders who is instantly smitten by her, but she turns down his advances demanding that he respect the goddess of love.
Believing that Venus is delusional, Saunders begins asking her questions, however when she begins to answer honestly about her godly origins Saunders soon begins losing his patience with her. Later, when Hammond and Della go to check in on them, they find that Dr. Saunders has completely lost it and refuses to treat Venus. Hammond and Venus leave to go out for dinner leaving Della alone with Dr. Saunders. Saunders refuses to treat Della, who believes she is suffering from a delusion now. He decides to quit his practice to go to a college for barbers.
