Young Allies Comics #6
School for Sabotage
The Young Allies are playing games along the shore of Long Island when they happen upon a Nazi submarine as it submerges in the area. Deciding to do something about it, the youths lure the crew out of the submarine and ambush them. After leaving the Nazis tied up for the coast guard, Bucky suggests that they use the submarine to get back at Germany by committing some acts of sabotage themselves.
However, as they travel across the Atlantic, they come upon a Nazi battleship. The captain suspects that it is being piloted by the enemy and orders the U-Boat destroyed. Although the Young Allies manage to destroy the battleship, their sub begins losing oxygen forcing them to abandon ship in order to avoid suffocation. Lost at sea, the group is picked up by another Nazi battleship. They quickly come up with a cover story, explaining that they are German-Americans who were en route to Germany to enlist in the Nazi’s sabotage school. The captain of this ship swallows this story and ferries them back to Germany. Before they leave, Knuckles O’Toole sets a timebomb in the ship’s ammunition storage.
When the Young Allies arrive at the Nazi’s sabotage school, they take the opportunity to play some pranks on some of the Hitler Youth that are marching around the building. They are soon taken to Professor Kraut, the teacher of the school who welcomes the new “students” from America. However, once they are inside the Professor points out the most obvious thing that everyone else seems to have missed: If they are all of German descent, how can they explain Whitewash Jones, who is clearly African-American. Bucky gives a bullshit explanation and, not fully understanding English and not wanting to seem stupid, Professor Kraut accepts it at face value and takes the boys to their first class. The Young Allies begin disrupting the class by asking difficult questions to the instructor causing him to get so upset that he storms out. They then cause a series of pranks until the guards are called in forcing them to slip out before their obvious deception is exposed.
In the hallway they are confronted by a commanding officer who orders the boys to get out ot the drill yard where Adolf Hitler is going to give a speech to the Hitler Youth at the school. In the middle of the dictator’s speech, Toro tosses a fireball up onto the stage, burning Hitler’s foot. Whitewash then spits watermelon seeds at some of the soldiers on guard then blame it on some of the Hitler Youth watching the speech. While everyone is distracted by the commotion, the Young Allies rush the stage and convince an increasingly paranoid Hitler that they can get him to safety. Once they have Hitler inside and to themselves, the Young Allies begin beating on him until the Nazi leader is on the ground begging for mercy. Unfortunately, before the Young Allies can do anymore, they are forced to flee when guards begin breaking down the door. However, instead of fleeing the facility, they double back into the building, losing their pursuers in the process. In the basement they find a store of ammunition and, with a storm coming in, rig up a lightning rod so that it will ignite the explosives when struck by lightning. As they flee, lighting strikes the building destroying the sabotage school. Through a stroke of luck, Hitler survives the blast but finds himself hanging from a tree branch crying for help. Fleeing the scene, the Young Allies find a boat on the nearby shore and use it to pilot back to the United States. Once they arrive home, they are greeted by Captain America and the Human Torch. The pair invite their young sidekicks to join them as they listen in on Hitler’s next scheduled broadcast. Keeping their adventure a secret, the Young Allies have a good laugh when their prediction that Hitler’s speech will be cancelled comes true as the Fuhrer has been hospitalized after his encounter with the young heroes.

The Comet of Doom
A group of astronomers have just discovered that a comet is streaking toward Earth and is scheduled to strike the United States in a few days. When the news gets out it causes a nationwide panic. As Captain America and the Human Torch try to figure out what to do next, Hirohito — the emperor of Japan — gloats to his minions as his operative, a man named Tojo, is responsible for pulling this meteor to Earth.
Meanwhile, at the Young Allies clubhouse, Jeff Vandergill begins picking up a strange radio frequency that is coming from a magnet he believes is pulling the comet toward Earth. When he pinpoints the location to the Murmine Hills, the group send word to the authorities while they go and investigate. When the Young Allies arrive at Murmine Hills, they find an abandoned home there. Despite fears that the building might be haunted, the young heroes go looking around inside. They are then quickly captured by Tojo who gloats about the impending annihilation of America. He then shows the Young Allies his “atom-magnet” the material pulling the meteor to Earth. Having heard enough, Toro flames on and melts through their prison and they quickly take Tojo prisoner. This does little to phase the Japanese spy as his atom-magnet is indestructible. When Toro’s flames fail to melt the magnet, he then uses his powers to force Tojo to talk. Unable to stand the burning heat he admits that there are two special plastic jewels that can negate the power of the magnet. However, he has hidden them in in Death Valley and an abandoned subway tunnel in New York City. Although the villain figures that the young men will be unable to get the jewels on time, the Young Allies shackle him up and split up to get the jewels. After the heroes have departed, Tojo breaks free from his bonds and summons his minions and orders them to try and stop the Young Allies. Hours later, Bucky arrives in Death Valley with Whitewash and Tubby. There they come upon a ghost town and are chased into a nearby saloon by Tojo’s minions. The trio easily overpower their foes and Bucky is told the exact location of the first jewel. But, when he rushes to get it, one of the spies pulls out a gun and prepares to fire.
In New York, Toro leads Jeff and Knuckles to the abandoned subway tunnel. Unfortunately, there is an overzealous police officer who they need to distract in order to get into the tunnel unimpeded. In the tunnel, they find the Japanese spies in the tunnel, but easily trounce them and recover the jewel thanks to infrared goggles made by Jeff. With the first jewel recovered, Toro decides to fly off to Death Valley to help Bucky and the others. He arrives just in time to melt the gun being aimed at Bucky. With the second jewel recovered the entire team rushes back to Tojo’s hideout where the villain attempts to escape. They stop him and when Bucky tosses the two jewels at the atom-magnet, it explodes. With the rays no longer pulling the meteor to Earth, the comet resumes its normal course, narrowly avoiding its collision with the planet. With his mission an utter failure, Tojo takes the coward’s way out and shoots himself in the head. With their mission a success, the Young Allies return home where they find Captain America and the Human Torch waiting for them. When they ask what the boys were when the comet changed course, the youths play modest about their involvement saving the country.
